The Grand Canyon is 277 miles long, 18 miles wide, and at the deepest is 6,093 feet. This means there is a whole lot of hiking trails for you to take advantage of. One of the most popular (and most beautiful) is the hike down to Havasupi Falls, though this requires planning as you need a permit and they only allow a certain amount every day.

You can also hike from rim to rim or into the canyon in one day. It also makes for one incredible overnight camping trip.

Aside from hiking, you can also river raft down the Colorado River or bike around the many trails at the South Rim. Other fitness activities including, skiing and yoga, with the backdrop of the Grand Canyon are plentiful.

Moab, Utah

Moab, Utah is one of the oldest mountain biking destinations in the world, and for good reason. It has some of the most bike-legal single tracks in the US.

If mountain biking isn’t for you, the National Park and State Park also offer golfing, fishing, hiking (with incredible views), horseback riding, rock climbing, and even stand-up paddle boarding. In total, there are 13 hikes, 5 rock climbing spots, and 9 lakes/rivers for you to fish. There’s truly something for everyone.

Kenai Fjords National Park, Alaska

This one is for all the hikers out there who are looking for a change in scenery. While the desert will always be a breathtaking backdrop, if you want to get up close and personal with Alaska’s glaciers, you’ll want to trek along the Harding Icefield Trail in the Kenai Fjords National Park.

125 miles south of Anchorage, this 8-mile trail weaves through landscapes like dense forests and alpine meadows. Beware before attacking this trail though. With 1,000 feet of gained elevation at every mile, it’s not for beginners and can be quite strenuous.

Banff, Alberta

Do you love to ski? Banff is in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in Canada and is truly a hub of outdoor activities, including hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, skiing, biking, and hiking. The best part is that RVs are common and welcomed in the park.

If you’re visiting during the summer and feel like exploring downtown Banff, you can leave your RV at Tunnel Mountain or Two Jack Campground and hop on a shuttle that will take you to town. And it’s free! Can’t beat that!
