5 Healthy Habits To Introduce Into Your Life This Year

This post will help you to introduce healthy habits into your life this year. Think outside the box to kick the year off right!

A new year gives us sometimes a feel of a fresh start, which is why we set new year’s resolutions which although can be good, most of the time are unrealistic and can be abandoned after only a few weeks. One of the reasons we normally abandon them is that we set unrealistic goals and when we can’t see an instant change we give up.

A better thing to do would be to look at introducing more and more healthy habits into your life. These healthy habits will help you get towards your goals more effectively.

If your goal is to lose some weight then instead of constantly thinking about that, think about swapping your weekly takeaway for a homemade version, adding fruit and vegetables into all of your meals, and walking instead of taking the bus.

By just focusing on these small changes which may not feel like a lot are easier to incorporate into your life and will lead to you living a healthier lifestyle and in turn, you will naturally lose weight.

Get Outside More

A great habit to introduce into your lifestyle is to get outdoors more. There are so many benefits to getting outside especially being around nature. You can start by simply having a walk on your lunch break then on the weekend you could start going to a local park or nature reserve for a longer and more intense walk.

After a while, if you enjoy it you can turn it into hiking and something you do with a friend or loved one and can contribute towards a healthy lifestyle. It can help reduce anxiety and stress, make you feel more clear and focused, and help you burn off some calories.

If you do get to the point of doing it regularly and perhaps hiking make sure you have the right gear. You want to make sure you have hiking boots so your feet don’t hurt.

Have some things like torches and a mini first aid kit in case you get lost so look at EcoGearFX to make sure you are kitted out. You can also look at using your hobbies to stay fit as it is something you already like doing.

Eat From The Earth

Eating overly processed and high-fat foods is something that we all know is not good for us but is still something so many people do. It is okay to have a treat but having them daily can be very detrimental to your health. A good habit to incorporate and a way to look at eating is to eat from the earth.

Focus on introducing more fruits, vegetables, nuts and legumes. These are all good for you, good nutrition can help you prevent illness, make you feel better, give you clearer and better skin as well as help you get to a healthy weight. If you normally have something like pancakes for breakfast, add in some fruit, honey, and nuts to make it healthier.

If for your lunch you like to have a sandwich, add some vegetables to it or have a salad on the side. You can be as creative as you want and try lots of new and amazing foods.

Keep Learning New Healthy Habits

After we finish school we don’t think about learning things, bettering ourselves, and what else we can do. A lot of us go into a job and just focus on that.

By doing that you are limiting yourself to that job, you can end up being stuck in the job for a long time and find yourself feeling unfulfilled and trapped. In your spare time look to be contributing to learning new things.

You could do this by taking an online course, there are so many for free online and some of them even have certificates. You can also look at books, it may be that you want to learn about crypto, learn a new language, or even learn a new subject to eventually start a new career. It is never too late.

Technology has given us so much and some apps can help us in ways as well, you could use Duolingo to help us learn a new language for example.

Keep Your Space Clean And Tidy

Our homes are another important part of our lifestyle. We want to make our homes a place where we can feel happy, content, and relaxed. It is where we unwind and get away from the stresses and the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Use Sunday as a reset day if you can, clean the bedding, deep clean the fridge, and make sure you can start the week with a clean home and a clear mind. It will make a difference. If you find your home is cluttered and you feel overwhelmed and are not sure where to start.

Just take a deep breath and choose 1 room to focus on. Start with something easy like the bathroom. Get a bin bag for rubbish and other things you no longer want but are in good condition. You can then donate this to charity or see if your friends or family want it.

Make Time For Your Friends

As we get older, we find it harder to fit in time with our friends. When kids get thrown into the mix it almost feels impossible to be able to arrange meetups. However, keeping your social life active is still beneficial. It gives you a chance to meet up with people you are close to, get things off your chest and just have a good time.

So just like a doctor’s appointment, book in time to see each other whether that is every week or every month, and stick to it. If one month you feel you may struggle, why not have a dinner party so you don’t have to leave your home, then you can still mingle, socialize, and make memories.
