When a golf enthusiast books golfing holidays, there is so much to consider. Price is one of the most essential components of this. When you take those precious days off from your usual day job, you want to make sure you are getting the best value for money with glorious fairways and course facilities.
So, to help you, we have come up with some things to think about when you get down to booking that all-important golfing getaway.
Be Flexible
Sticking rigidly to a specific time or place of golfing retreat can always cost you a lot more. You are far better off shopping to get the best deal. Try Sundays to Mondays instead of Saturdays to Sundays, for example, if it is a one-night trip you’re after.
You’ll be amazed at how much prices can drop. Also, there are so many gift courses out there. Instead of going to the tried and tested course, look for somewhere a little different. You may well bag a bargain.
Out of Season Golfing Holidays
Going anywhere in peak times always pushes the prices up, as well as meaning the course will be far busier. If going on golfing holidays completely out of season is not for you, then how about going out of season by a day or two? Doing this can make the whole experience that much cheaper and enjoyable.
Peak Tee Times
Most courses have peak tee times. To avoid waiting around, why not tee off very early so you can make the most of the rest of your day? Alternatively, some resorts offer twilight tee times. This could mean that you get to sightsee during the day and still have time for that all-important golf game.
Group Breaks
It can be advantageous in many ways to get your usual golfing buddies to commit to a golf break. First, you will have friends to enjoy the trip with and have companions for all those bars and restaurants. Also, there are some great discounts when you book en-masse.
Occasionally if x amount of you book, one person goes free, so you can easily spread to saving between the lot of you. So, ensure you hunt to discover all the group discounts available to you.
Advance Booking
Being organized is the name of the game. The further in advance you book, the more likely you are to get the tee times you wish and have that day out of season ticking.
Also, the prices are likely a lot cheaper several months ahead for your golfing holiday, whereas booking that same ticket a few days before your intended travel day means you will be paying a premium.
Equipment for your Golfing Holidays
Again this is all about organization. Ensure you have everything you may need packed way ahead of time. If you discover you are missing something essential, you have time to purchase it and save money, such as with cheap golf bags.
If you don’t find out you need something until the day, and you need to buy it at the resort, you will be paying over the odds. So, be prepared.
