Canggu might be trending all over social media, but it’s not the place to find Bali’s natural or cultural wonders.
It’s a hotspot for beach clubs, gyms, cafes, coworking spaces, trendy restaurants, and nightlife. If that’s your scene, you’ll love it.
But if you came here for actual tourist attractions in Canggu like waterfalls, temples, or scenic hikes, you’re in the wrong place.
The beach in Canggu isn’t even anything special. The sand is dark, the water isn’t crystal clear, and the waves are rough—perfect for surfers, but not for people who like to lie out in the sun all day.
You will need to travel at least an hour (if you are lucky) to see the iconic Bali attractions.
What Can You See in Canggu?
If you’re really pushing to see something, you can visit Tanah Lot Temple. It’s about 30 minutes from central Canggu (longer if traffic is bad, which it usually is).
This sea temple sits on a rock formation and is most famous at sunset. It’s not technically in Canggu, but it’s close enough to mention.

Most of the attractions do not sell out, so you can book your adventure when you arrive in Bali.
